If you are looking for a way to make your DVD project stand out, try "Photo Quality" printing. This offset printing process uses a 175 line screen. Silk screen printing, the industry standard printing process, uses a 100 line screen. We provide both options.
Which Printing Method is Best for My Project? Your artwork will determine which printing method is best for your project. If you artwork is spot colors, with no screens, then silk screen printing is best. Silk screen printing handles solid areas of color very well. Generally, silk screen printing is less expensive than offset printing.
If your artwork call for process colors (CMYK + white background), has photos or four color logos, then offset printing may be the best option.
Why is offset printing the better method for screens
and four color process?
The size of the printing dot (halftone) used in the silk
screen printing process is 100 lines per inch. This is comparable to the size of the
printing dot used in most newspaper printing. This large dot makes screened images
and photos look a bit grainy when compared to an image printed with a smaller dot.
The size of the printing dot (halftone) used in the offset printing process is 175 lines per inch. This is comparable to the quality found in the highest quality brochure printing. This finer dot makes the images sharper, resembling a photograph.
